“This is a delightful and deeply moving short novella.

I’m looking forward to more from this author!” ***** (5 stars) – bluestocking ( Amazon) This type of character development is difficult in a short novel, but Belford carries it off effortlessly. The theme of eggs seems strange at first, yet by the end of the story, the reader may find themselves heating up the frying pan for a pre-bedtime snack. I gave this 5 stars because as I turned the last page in my e-reader, I felt a definite sadness that the story was over. By the end of the book, the characters have undergone a metamorphosis and seem to have become whole.

The characters are endearing and Belford is successful in carrying the reading through their personal development over the dozen chapters of the story. “Enjoyable two-night read: If you are looking for a light and enjoyable read, this is a great novella to accompany a cup of tea and a warm blanket. Set in rural America, this story combines an intriguing mystery with quirky characters. “A simple story, but engagingly told.” ***** (5 stars) – Mike S.
